Gifford Pinchot National Forest

Situeert aan de samenvloeiing van drie waterwegen nabij Mount Rainier, is La Wis Wis genesteld onder een bladerdak van torenhoge douglassparren en rode ceders. Het handjevol plaatsen aan de oever van de rivier geniet de meeste zon.
Met een overvloed aan activiteiten in de buurt, is La Wis Wis een populaire bestemming voor een lang verblijf op een camping. De nabijheid van Mount Rainier National Park maakt het een uitstekende uitvalsbasis voor het verkennen van alle natuurlijke wonderen van het gebied.

La Wis Wis is ideaal voor tenten, autocampers en truckcampers met een slide-in. De Hatchery Loop sites zijn geschikt voor campers, maar navigatie door andere delen van het kampeerterrein kan moeilijk zijn als gevolg van smalle wegen en grote bomen.
Het kampeerterrein beschikt over 122 plaatsen, waaronder inloop tent camping. Zowel gewelfde en spoeltoiletten zijn beschikbaar. Picknick tafels, picknick schuilplaatsen en grills zijn aanwezig.
Drinkwater is beschikbaar ter plaatse op het grootste deel van het kamp. Kampeerders die bij de Hatchery Loop blijven, moeten drinkwater meenemen of water halen op het hoofdterrein.

• Deze reservering is inclusief maximaal een (1) voertuig. Eventuele extra voertuigen moeten worden betaald binnen 30 minuten na aankomst.

• Verplaats geen brandhout: Bescherm Pacific Northwest bossen door de verspreiding van invasieve soorten te voorkomen. Brandhout kan insecten en ziektes met zich meedragen die de gezondheid van onze westelijke bossen kunnen bedreigen. Natuurlijke kenmerken

Het Gifford Pinchot National Forest, gelegen in het zuidwesten van de staat Washington, omvat 1,3 miljoen hectare en omvat het 110.000 hectare grote Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, dat in 1982 door het Congres is opgericht.
La Wis Wis ligt in het Tatoosh Wilderness-gebied van het Cowlitz Valley Ranger District. De camping ligt waar de Ohanapecosh River, Cowlitz River en Purcell Creek samenkomen.
De camping beschikt over oerbossen en mogelijkheden om een verscheidenheid aan wilde dieren te observeren.

Aantrekkelijke attracties in de buurt

La Wis ligt vlak bij de ingang van Mount Rainier National Park. De populaire Henry M Jackson Memorial Visitor Center at Paradise in Mount Rainier National Park ligt op 28 mijl afstand.

Recreation

Wandelaars kunnen gemakkelijk toegang krijgen tot de Blue Hole Trail en Purcell Falls Trail vanuit La Wis Wis.
Anglers kunnen vissen op regenboogforel, cutthroat forel en witvis bij ofwel Butter Creek of Skate Creek.
