The increase was approved in 2019.
Under the bill, signed by governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, wage will continue to go up, phase in phases, by 2023 $12 per hour.

Santa Fe and Las Cruces will not be affected by the increase because the city’s require businesses to pay more than the state-medined minimum wage.
